| Andy
and Roberta Abeita call the Pueblo of Isleta home. For over two decades,
Andy and Roberta have been grinding, cutting and shaping intricate pieces of
stone into the beautiful creations you will see here.
Turquoise, jet, shell and coral
are used for inlay, beads or rolled eyes that are found in the pieces.
Each piece is carved, sanded and cloth buffed by hand. Roberta adds final
touches to each fetish by adding a feather here and a stone bead there.
Andy is a seed descendant of the
Parrot clan from his mother and Eagle clan member from his father. Roberta
is a member of the Rama Band of Navajo.
